Guest Blogging Guidelines:

There are general guidelines for all guest blog posts. Please review and make sure you agree to all of this before submitting your post or your ideas!

Content & Value

I work very hard to provide my readers with valuable information and actionable steps to success. I have the same expectation for guest posts. Depending on your topic, what exactly constitutes “valuable” information may vary a bit, but your post should provide information in such a way that a reader would consider referencing the article at a later date. I am very open to blog posts that provide a unique viewpoint on a topic. Please submit evergreen content, i.e. content that can remain on the blog and be useful for the foreseeable future. If you would like to publicize and event or promotion, your content should not be a guest post, so please send an email to discuss your idea, and we’ll figure out the best way to help you.

Types of Posts

You may submit on a variety of topics that fall within our 3 main categories of content: a) shared stories, b) product reviews / giveaways, or c) workflows & tutorials.

A) Shared Stories

This category conveys personal experiences or stories you feel others should hear, for example lessons you’ve learned over the years, how you dealt with a sticky situation, or a break-through solution you came up with after dealing with a problem. We welcome articles from all types of writers that are opinion pieces, or content that is experience-based both from regular blog readers and industry professionals.

Examples:

B) Product Reviews / Giveaways

Have you recently tried a new product that’s applicable to the photo organizing community? If so, we’d like to hear about your experience! Let us know what you liked or didn’t like, and how & why you decided to try it out. If you are a product developer or marketing professional, contact us to discuss how we can help you review and get feedback on your product. We often conduct giveaways as a marketing tool and we would love to discuss a collaboration with you.

Examples:

C) Workflows & Tutorials

Are you an experienced user of a certain piece of software? This is the category for you. If you have a tutorial, tips, tricks, or other shortcuts to optimize a workflow, submit a tutorial for us and share your knowledge. If you are a product developer with an interest in showcasing how your product works, we’d love for you to submit an article on shortcuts, optimizations, settings we should know about, and other tips & tricks you can offer in how to best use your product. This is a great way to get the word out and encourage people to give it a try. This category is often combined with a free trial offer for our readers.

Quality

All posts must be written in English, and be free of obvious grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. Your post should be written in your own voice, so you can “write the way you speak” as long as the content is easy to understand. I don’t allow any vulgarities or cursing. Your blog post should be of high quality, and have a point (no rambling/ranting). I encourage the use of outlines, headings, and subheadings to make your articles easy to read. OrganizingPhotos.net reserves the right to edit your content for minor errors, and provide comments, and/or clarifications, as well as an introduction in the final piece.

Originality

All blog posts must be original. This means that you have to write the post yourself, and not copy and paste from somewhere else. Your blog post cannot infringe on any copyrights. Guest blog posts must be previously unpublished online. Repurposing content is OK, but you cannot submit something that is a word-for-word copy of something that’s already out there. Once the post has been published on OrganizingPhotos.net, we ask that you do not publish it somewhere else online.

Length

Guest posts should be no less than 1000 words, and no longer than 3000 words. If you have a longer blog post, we can do a series instead.

Author Bio

Your guest post will include a brief biography of you, the author. You will need to submit a short statement about who you are, what your background is in relation to your subject, as well as information about your business (if applicable). You may include a link back to your company, and/or to your social media profiles. Please submit a high-quality headshot of yourself (and please make sure you own the copyright to it, or have a release). This website uses Gravatar accounts for author bios, so if you already have one set up, please provide that information along with your guest post.

Photos & Graphics

You are welcome to submit photos and graphics that you own for inclusion in your guest post. Be sure to include the credits. Please don’t submit a photo if you do not own the copyright. OrganizingPhotos.net will chose a photo for you if you don’t submit one with your post. You will receive other marketing materials upon request.

How to Submit

If you already have a post ready to go, you can submit it directly here with your related information.

Your submission is not a guarantee that you will be published. OrganizingPhotos.net reserves the right to refuse any blog post for any reason, especially if it includes blatant self-promotion, too many affiliate links, or inappropriate content.

You are also most welcome to submit ideas and receive feedback via email (hello@theswedishorganizer.com) before sitting down to write your draft.

FAQ

Can I share my information via Google Drive, Dropbox, or Evernote?

Please use this submission form!

Do you publish sponsored posts?

This is reviewed on a case by case basis, and the article must adhere to our other guidelines as well.

If you are interested in having OrganzingPhotos.net do a review of your product, please send an email to discuss.

I sent an article. Why haven’t you posted it yet?

There are many reasons why your article may not have posted.

First, please keep in mind that we get many submissions and may already have a full editorial calendar for the year.

Secondly, we find that a staggering 70% of submissions do not adhere to our guidelines. The usual problems are: length (shorter than 800 words when it should be 1000+), originality (copied from elsewhere), missing parts (photo credits, bio, headshot, links, etc.), or poor grammar and other quality issues. This page tells you exactly what to submit, and how to submit it, and if you don’t adhere to those guidelines, we cannot guarantee that we have time to get back to you. We always give you a chance or two to correct things, but we cannot babysit the process for you.

How long will it take for my article to publish?

On average, it takes 4-6 weeks for you article to be published after it’s been approved. However, depending on our editorial cycle, it could take up to 3 months. Please be patient! Articles are often published in conjunction with promotions, product launches, and holidays, so we need to make sure the timing is right!
